Today marks the 12th day since my first chapter was released, and even for this title, I haven’t given much thought to what I should write. “You and Your Thoughts” is concise and seems more focused on the self. Thoughts and perspectives significantly influence how your life unfolds. Many aspects are involved in a single thought.
If any of your thoughts are positive about something, you will approach it well, even if the reality afterward differs from what you expected. However, the function of positive thinking is to bring peace to yourself in the present and the future. We cannot make everything go according to our plans, but we can create plans that are good for now and for when those plans come to fruition, which is achieved through positive thinking. Everything will inevitably pass through our thoughts. If someone is negatively perceived by your thoughts and you believe that, then whatever that person does will appear less favorable to you. Something that should be good can seem bad because of your negative thoughts and perspectives.
The dynamics of life are fundamentally complex. I conclude that there is no answer that is truly correct from the perspective of thought itself. Each person will have their own perspective on one matter, and that matter will certainly have different viewpoints among others. Other people’s perspectives do not always align with yours. However, instead of seeking who is right, it is better to find what resonates with you and what makes you need that perspective.
“Strive to think positively, because goodness is not far from what is good.” Why did I write ‘strive’ instead of ‘ensure’? Because we all strive every day to become better. Sometimes, the people we encounter or our closest ones may unknowingly do things we dislike, but that is normal. “Every day, anyone strives to do their best for themselves.” In other words, when someone we meet, including our closest ones, does something we dislike and it may indeed be wrong, understand that they are also among those who are trying to do their best for themselves, even if your level of understanding is above theirs.
Being viewed negatively by others will never hurt you as long as your thoughts do not validate that. For you, like me, still single, seek someone whose flaws you can accept, and vice versa. “Reading books will not always make you smart if your initial obsession is to become smart. What matters is not how many books you read, but how much you can think after that.”
There is no perfection in this life. Live your portion with the richness of principles that you believe in. Ruswanda Clark Oct 12, 2024
